Goals in life
To be the best version of myself and give 110% effort in everything I do.
Person you admire & why
My brother! I’ve never met someone so driven, talented, and successful, yet so incredibly humble and kind. Unless you were told, you would never know the accomplishments he’s achieved and the work he’s put in throughout his life and career. He’s the first person to answer when someone asks for help, and is the best friend anyone could ever have.
Fun fact about yourself
Although I love getting dolled up and dancing on the sideline for my favorite team, I equally love throwing on my camo and some face paint, grabbing my bow, and spending a weekend in the blind or up in a tree stand bow-hunting.
My all-time favorite book has to be The Giving Tree. I remember always asking my mom to read it to me growing up.
Favorite Charity & why
The Team Jack Foundation is my favorite charity. Jack Hoffman is a young boy who was diagnosed with pediatric brain cancer after the discovery of a tumor. Being a huge Husker fan, a bond was formed between player Rex Burkhead and the Hoffman family. Being an alumni of Nebraska, I was able to witness Jack run a touchdown at the 2013 spring game. I was given the honor of meeting and interact with his sisters who have a passion for dance, and I was able to watch as a community came together as a whole to fight for a bigger cause.
Why did you decide to audition to be a CC?
It has been a dream ever since I was little. My mom even said the only way she could get me to watch TV as a baby was to put the Chiefs game on. I get to combine my passion, favorite team, and profession. Getting to connect with the young girls in our community, and the Chiefs Kingdom as a whole… auditioning to be a CC really has been a dream come true.
Favorite CC Appearance to date
The Polar Express was my favorite appearance! Lindsay and I were given the opportunity to meet with kids who had lost a parent in the war before they boarded a flight to take them to Dallas. Once the landed in Dallas, they spent a weekend with kids from all over the country who had experienced the same loss. These kids were so full of life and love… and fun!
Advice to anyone that wants to audition in the future to be a CC
Do it! You never know if that year is going to be your year… just like our director always says, “NOTHING to lose and EVERYTHING to gain!” I promise, it will be the best decision of your life. Whether you make it or not, the people you meet, the confidence you gain, the positive experience and atmosphere this organization creates… its life changing!
