Production of Chiefs preseason football games will move in-house

Today, the Kansas City Chiefs announced a revised and extended agreement with KCTV5 that will see KCTV5 continue to air Chiefs preseason games as well as broadcast additional Chiefs programs, while production of the Chiefs preseason games will move in-house.

The Emmy Award-winning Chiefs in-house production staff will produce the fan-favorite Hy-Vee Chiefs Insider show, the new Chiefs Kingdom show and preseason games starting in 2012.

Originally launched on in September, Chiefs Kingdom has been well received as the first three episodes have combined to register more than 250,000 views. Viewership for other Chiefs programs continues to thrive as video views on reached over 8.2 million users in 2011. During the season, averages more than 400,000 views a month while 67% of views come from outside Missouri and Kansas.

“We appreciate our partnership with KCTV5 and are excited to develop an enhanced viewing experience that will include more content and better access for our fans,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said.
