Chiefs Scratch Four

Brodie Croyle and Jon McGraw two of the players who won't play tonight

Kansas City has scratched four players for tonight’s game against the Buccaneers. QB Brodie Croyle, RB Kestahn Moore, S Jon McGraw and G Darryl Harris will all be held out of action. Moore and Harris did not make the trip to Tampa with the team.

Without Croyle, the Chiefs will rely on Tyler Palko and Bill Stull to back-up starter Matt Cassel. Croyle missed most practice sessions over the last week, with Palko receiving the second-team reps.

McGraw started at safety alongside rookie Eric Berry is last Friday’s preseason opener. He was in and out of practice sessions throughout the past week. McGraw’s absence leaves rookie Kendrick Lewis as the probable starter tonight alongside Berry. The two have repped together with the first-team defense at times this offseason, but tonight’s game would provide their first opportunity to start alongside each other.

Moore also missed the majority of practices this past week and Harris was inactive with a leg injury vs. Atlanta.

Out for the Tampa Bay tonight are the following: RB Clifton Smith, T Demar Dotson, *TE Kellen Winslow and WR Maurice Stovall.

*Winslow will dress, but not play
