The Chiefs announced that DE Allen Bailey has signed a contract extension

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Saturday that the team has signed defensive end Allen Bailey to a contract extension. Terms of the contract will not be released by the club.

“We are happy that we were able to reach an agreement to keep Allen in Kansas City,” Chiefs General Manager John Dorsey said. “He has developed into a good football player and a key member of our defense.”

Bailey (6-3, 288) has played in 50 games (13 starts) in four NFL seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs (2011-14). His career numbers include 72 tackles (54 solo), 13 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks (-43.0 yards), 12 pressures, five passes defensed and two fumble recoveries. Thus far this season, Bailey has started all nine games for the club, recording 27 tackles (18 solo) with 4.0 sacks (-26.0 yards) and seven pressures.

The Sapelo Island, Georgia, native, originally entered the NFL as the second of Kansas City’s two third-round draft picks in the 2011 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at the University of Miami (Fla.) and prepped at McIntosh County Academy in Darien, Georgia.
