Team adds depth to its secondary

The Kansas City Chiefs added a safety to their secondary, the team announced on Monday.

Husain Abdullah (6-0, 204) joins the Chiefs after spending four seasons (2008-2011) playing for the Minnesota Vikings, who signed him as an undrafted free agent.

In four seasons with the Vikings, Abdullah appeared in 54 games (24 starts), including three postseason contests. With Minnesota, he recorded 167 tackles (111 solo), two sacks, four INTs, 11 passes defensed, six tackles-for-loss, two QB pressures and 49 special teams tackles.

As a senior at Washington State, Abdullah was named Honorable Mention All-Pac 10, recording team highs with 93 tackles and four INTs, also earning team defensive MVP, after his senior season.

The Pomona, California native, Abdullah prepped at Pomona High School where he was named second team All-CIF as a senior and was CIF Division-9 Defensive Player of the Year.
