We took a look back at linebacker Justin Houston and tight end Travis Kelce’s seasons on Tuesday in a pair of “Triple Coverage” episodes.

Looking Back at Justin Houston’s 2017 Season

Injuries limited Houston’s ability to be on the field in the two years since his 22-sack season in 2015, but he was back to his disruptive ways this past season. Houston played in 15 games, recording 9.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss and 20 quarterback hurries.

The advanced metrics back up Houston’s strong season, as well. According to the folks at Pro Football Focus, his 51 pressures from the left side ranked in the top 10 among all edge defenders.

Kelce hauled in a team-leading 83 passes for 1,038 yards and a career-high eight touchdowns in 2017, marking his second-consecutive 1,000-yard season. Kelce’s 83 receptions led all tight ends while his 599 yards after the catch ranked second at his position to only the New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski.

“I think he’s going to add competition,” Veach said. “We’re going to bring in guys that are going to compete, that will show up every day and just get after it. Certainly, he’s shown the ability. I think a couple years ago he was one of the leaders in PBUs (pass breakups). He can play. He can play in this league. If he stays healthy and comes in with the right attitude, he’ll have a great shot.”
