The Chiefs are out in front in Oakland on Thursday Night Football

The Kansas City Chiefs are leading the Oakland Raiders, 20-14, at halftime of Thursday Night Football.

Chiefs’ quarterback Alex Smith hit wide receiver Tyreek Hill for a 64-yard touchdown to cap off a three-play, 99-yard drive that put Kansas City in front midway through the second quarter.

It was just the sixth 99-yard, touchdown scoring drive of three plays or less since 1999, and the first since 2011. The score also marked the Chiefs’ 11th game with a 50-plus yard touchdown in their last 12 contests.

The strike was Smith’s second touchdown pass of the evening, as he hit tight end Travis Kelce for a 10-yard score earlier in the game.

Smith completed 16 of 21 passes for 203 yards and two scores in the half, posting a passer rating of 137.6.

Rookie kicker Harrison Butker converted both of his field goal attempts for Kansas City, including a career-long 53-yarder.

Raiders’ quarterback Derek Carr found wide receiver Amari Cooper for a pair of touchdowns in the half, connecting on passes of 38 and 45 yards.
