Labor Agreement Reached; Chiefs Schedule Tuesday Press Conferences

Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt, GM Scott Pioli, Head Coach Todd Haley and President Mark Donovan set to meet with media Tuesday

Back to work we go. Football has returned.

Members of the NFLPA and NFL announced that the 32 player representatives voted unanimously Monday afternoon to approve a new NFL labor agreement.

“Today, a new labor agreement was reached between the NFL and the NFL Players Association,” Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said. “I want to commend Commissioner Roger Goodell, DeMaurice Smith, the players’ executive committee and the NFL clubs for working together to find a mutually-beneficial solution that will allow our game to thrive for many years to come.

“Most importantly, I want to thank our fans for their enduring passion for football and the tremendous patience they have demonstrated throughout the challenges of the last several months. Our entire organization has been working hard to prepare for the 2011 season, and we are excited to get back to football when we open training camp at Missouri Western in St. Joseph, MO.”

At 8:30 AM (CST) Tuesday morning Chiefs GM Scott Pioli, Head Coach Todd Haley and President Mark Donovan will hold a press conference at the Chiefs Training Facility. Pioli, Haley and Donovan will unveil plans for operating under terms of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the club's training camp plans and answer questions.

The press conference will be carried LIVE on with coverage beginning at 8:15 AM (CST).

Hunt, who played a pivotal role in negotiations between owners and players, will hold a separate press conference Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 PM (CST). That press conference will also be carried LIVE on with coverage beginning at 12:45 PM (CST).

The coming days are sure to be action packed with the return of players to team facilities and football operations re-opening across the league.
