Kenny Chesney fans are in for an unforgettable night this summer in Kansas City. The country music sensation is making his third visit to Arrowhead Stadium during his “No Shoes Nation” tour on June 15, 2013.
Chesney’s tour, and will also feature special guest Eric Church - whose new album 'Chief' was chosen as 'Album of the Year' at the 2012 CMA Awards - as well as Eli Young Band and Kacey Musgraves.
Chesney already owns the country-world record for stadium shows (85) and is planning to break the century mark with 17 more scheduled performances, including another at Arrowhead. While Chesney is known for entertaining countless fans with his music, football remains a vital part of his record-breaking success. “Anyone who knows me knows how pivotal football has been in developing who I am,” explains Chesney, who began playing for tips at Quarterback’s Barbeque in Johnson City, TN. “It taught me discipline…teamwork…integrity…humility…and it gave me a sense that no matter how many times you get knocked down, if you keep getting up, you will get better.” The lessons learned from football have helped Chesney become the only artist in any genre to sell over a million tickets each of the past eight summers.
Just as the Chiefs thrive off the passion and excitement of the Kingdom crowd on Sundays, it’s no different in Chesney’s industry. "I believe what we've created on the road is something special," says Chesney, "the fans, myself, the band, the crew. But it's really the fans who have given us a wonderful, unique life. What we've all built together is the 'No Shoes Nation.' There is no better name for this tour."
The 'No Shoes Nation' tour marks 20 years of touring for Chesney, who Billboard declares is "The biggest ticket seller in country music and among the elite touring artists in the world," exemplified by his wildly successful 2012 'Brothers of the Sun' Tour, which electrified more than 1.1 million fans nationwide - his 10th consecutive tour to hit that ticket-sale milestone.
“We are thrilled to welcome Kenny back to Arrowhead Stadium for a third consecutive summer,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. “He has created one of the best stadium show experiences in music and this will again be the biggest party of the summer.”
Tickets for the concert start at $25. Fans interested in tickets for groups of 20 or more may call (816) 920-4849. For suite options call (816) 920-4839.
Tickets for Chesney’s latest Arrowhead Stadium show will go on sale to Jackson County residents November 15, 2012 at 10AM and to the General Public on December 7 at 10AM. Chiefs Season Ticket holders however, will receive a presale opportunity on November 15 via email.
