RB Jamaal Charles Activated from PUP List, Will Practice on Limited Basis

Posted Aug 16, 2016

The franchise’s all-time leading rusher is back on the field after suffering an ACL tear last season

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is back on the practice field.

The Chiefs announced Tuesday morning that they were removing Charles from the PUP list and that he would begin practicing on a limited basis.

Charles, who is the franchise’s all-time leading rusher, last played for the Chiefs during Week 5 last season in a game against the Chicago Bears. Charles tore the ACL in his right knee during the game and has been working his way back to the Chiefs lineup ever since.

The eight-year NFL veteran, who the Chiefs drafted in 2008 in the third round, is a four-time Pro Bowler, a three-time All-Pro and the NFL’s career leader in yards per carry (5.5) for a running back with at least 750 attempts.
