Pro Football Focus Calls Chris Jones Pick “One of the Best” Overall

Posted May 3, 2016

PFF’s Mike Renner ranks Chiefs DT Chris Jones as a top pick in the 2016 NFL Draft

The Kansas City Chiefs began the 2016 NFL Draft by addressing the defensive side of the ball with three of their first four picks.

They added more depth to the defensive line by drafting Mississippi State defensive tackle Chris Jones with their second-round pick after trading out of the first round.

Pro Football Focus’ Mike Renner ranked the best selections of the weekend, and Kansas City’s pick of Jones came in the top three.

Take a look at what Renner had to say about Kansas City’s first pick of the draft:

Chris Jones, DT, Kansas City Chiefs

“As far as raw talent goes, Jones may have more than any other defensive lineman in the draft class. He posted a plus-32.5 pass rushing grade against Power Five competition, which was higher than even DeForest Buckner, who was drafted inside the top 10. He’ll immediately add some juice to the Chiefs pass rush and has the height (6-6) and length (34 ½-inch arms) to play the run on early downs.”
