Arrowhead Events, the special events arm of the Kansas City Chiefs, will host Northwest Missouri State and Pittsburg State at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 12 for a noon kickoff. This marks the 13th meeting between two teams at Arrowhead since 2002.
Tickets will go on sale to the public at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13. Tickets can be ordered online at www.ticketmaster.com or at the Arrowhead Stadium Ticket Office located between the Founder’s Plaza and the Hy-Vee Gate.
“Hosting this matchup gives us a unique opportunity to celebrate regional college football,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. “Arrowhead is known for its college-like atmosphere, and we look forward to welcoming the players, coaches, staff and fans of both Northwest Missouri State and Pittsburg State to the Home of the Chiefs for another exciting MIAA contest this fall.”
Jackson County residents will have a special ticket allotment to purchase tickets beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12. Jackson County taxpayers purchasing tickets must come to the Arrowhead Stadium Ticket Office during normal business hours and have one form of identification that includes a photo of the purchaser and a personal 2018 Jackson County, Missouri, property tax receipt. The Chiefs will contact Season Ticket Members, suite holders and partners with information on tickets.
Lower Level tickets are $25 while tickets on the CommunityAmerica Club Level are $50. Student tickets are available for $10 through a special link distributed by each university, or in person at the participating schools’ ticket offices or at the Arrowhead Stadium Ticket Office. Suites are available by calling (888) 99-CHIEFS (24433). Parking will be $15, while RV and bus parking is $25.
Northwest Missouri State and Pittsburgh State met at the Home of the Chiefs for 12 consecutive years from 2002-13, with Northwest Missouri State holding a 9-3 advantage in those games. The inaugural contest in 2002 set an unofficial NCAA Division II attendance record with 26,695 fans at Arrowhead. In 2016-17, Northwest Missouri State faced off against the University of Central Missouri, with the Bearcats winning both contests vs. the Mules. In total, nearly 270,000 fans have watched the 14 previous NCAA Division II contests featuring MIAA teams at Arrowhead, averaging nearly 20,000 fans per game.
