Kush played Division II college football.

Eric Kush played college football at California University of Pennsylvania, a Division II school in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Kush started 23 games for the Vulcans in 2011 and 2012, his final two seasons.

Kush is an avid hunter.

Kush frequently posts on social media about various hunting escapades, especially during the offseason.

Kush switched to center his junior season because he felt that it would give him the greatest chance to play professional football.

Kush first got to start during his sophomore season.

"My first opportunity to play at Cal was at tackle because the previous tackle had graduated," he explained on the day he was drafted. "I thought I did well at tackle, and the next season one of the seniors graduated and we had a transfer from Ole Miss named Rashad Johnson who transferred into Cal to play guard.

"I thought my shot at playing in the NFL was going to be at center and not tackle, so I asked my coach, 'Hey Coach, let me play center next to Rishaw,' and I think that's what got all the attention and kept rolling."

Kush played center during his final two seasons at Cal U.

Kush was invited to play in the East-West Shrine Game in 2013.

Despite being a Division II player, Kush had an opportunity to play in the East-West Shrine Game in January of 2013.

With no other film of direct competition against his Division I peers, making the Shrine Game was very important for Kush's draft stock.

Kush, like many Kansas Citians, became quite a big Royals supporter last October.

Along with some of his teammates, Kush could be found with the rest of Kansas City at Kaufmann Stadium during the Royals' magical run last October.
