KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Chiefs have announced the Coach of the Week honors for the ninth week of the 2023 season. The Week Nine awards go to Lafayette County Head Coach Steve Cook (Missouri) and Spring Hill Head Coach Jason Feeback (Kansas).

As a result of this honor, the awarded schools will receive a $500 grant from the Hunt Family Foundation. Additionally, the coaches will be presented a pair of sunglasses, courtesy of Oakley, a congratulatory commemorative Super Bowl LVII coin and a certificate recognizing their selection. These coaches are now qualified for the Eric Driskell Coach of the Year Award, which will be voted on later this fall. The Eric Driskell Coach of the Year Award is selected by a panel comprised of the Missouri and Kansas Boards from the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association.

Lafayette County beat Lone Jack 67-7 in the first round of the of the Missouri Class 2 playoffs and now stands at 10-0. It was the sixth time the Huskers have held their opponents to seven points or less and the fifth time they have scored 57 points or more. Cook credits the program's success to the hard work of everyone involved.

"What an honor to the program to receive this recognition," Cook said. "The players, coaching staff, and community all rally around one another and the football program here at Lafayette County. This recognition is a direct reflection of the players and staff being extremely invested in what it takes to be successful here at Lafayette County C-1 in Higginsville, Missouri."

Spring Hill defeated Leavenworth 63-14 in the first round of the Kansas Class 5A playoffs to move to 7-2 on the season.
