Chiefs Host 33 Area Prospects for Annual "Local Pro Day" at the Team Facility

The Chiefs had an opportunity to work with several local draft prospects on Tuesday

The Kansas City Chiefs hosted their annual "local pro day" on Tuesday, which invited 33 area prospects to the team facility for an organized workout. It was an opportunity for the participants – each of whom attended either a local high school or university – to show the Chiefs' coaches and scouts what they could do prior to the 2024 NFL Draft later this month.

General Manager Brett Veach spoke about the value of the event back in 2019:

"We've seen a lot of these guys and followed their careers, so to get them here one final time, to put them through drills and have our coaches coach them and spend time with them, it's important," Veach said. "Every general manager in the NFL is always looking for talent, but you never want to miss out on talent that's in your own back yard."

The event has led to tangible results, too. In fact, two participants from last year's local pro day – defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah and cornerback Ekow Boye-Doe – each landed with Kansas City last season.
