Chiefs Re-Sign Defensive Lineman Chris Jones

Jones has the fourth-most sacks in the NFL since 2018

The Kansas City Chiefs announced a contract extension with All-Pro defensive lineman Chris Jones on Monday that will keep the three-time Super Bowl champion in the red and gold for years to come.

Jones – whose 67 sacks since 2018 rank fourth among all players – recorded 75 pressures, 29 quarterback hits and 10.5 sacks in 16 games last season. He was the anchor of a defense that ranked second in the NFL in scoring during the regular season before holding opponents to an average of 15.8 points-per-game during the playoffs.

His 75 pressures last season trailed only the Los Angeles Rams' Aaron Donald among interior linemen, and his six pressures in Super Bowl LVIII matched defensive end George Karlaftis for the team-lead.

Jones has been an integral cornerstone of the Chiefs' run to three world championships in five seasons, and now with a new contract in-hand, he'll have an opportunity to build on his already immense legacy in Kansas City.
