Chiefs Coach Andy Reid: "The Guys Are Prepared"

Andy Reid spoke to the media Friday

Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid Opening Statement:"The only injury is Mitch Morse and he'll be listed as out. Everybody else will be ready to go. Look forward to the challenge of playing the Chargers, we know they're a good football team. Obvious by their last two games, they've been right there. We've had a good week of practice, guys are prepared for the trip there."

Q: How do you guard against – in this league you can be great one week and not the next – how do you guard against that?

REID: "Well we respect the parity in the league. We know they're good football players, so you go about your preparation and then you've got to make sure you take care of that."

Q: Alex (Smith) has 16 touchdowns, one pick since 2013 in divisional road games. What's been the point – how does he play so great in those games?

REID: "That's a tough one. Listen, I don't know the answer. It's a good stat though, I like the stat. Let's just keep it going. That's the positive part."

Q: Do you guys do anything different?

REID: "I don't think so. I just think that's probably how it worked out."

Q: Philip Rivers, respected, great quarterback. Is he any different than you've seen him? He's getting older but is he still as effective?

REID: "He's still the same guy, slings it around. Loves doing it. Doesn't care who's in there, he just plays. Great competitor."

Q: Marcus (Peters) and Keenan (Allen) are two of the most competitive guys we've seen, they've had some great battles – do you have to talk to Marcus before a game like this, do you say anything to him?

REID: "No, he knows. He loves challenges and he knows. He knows 13 (Keenan Allen) can play and he's a good player. That's what you pay for, to go watch guys like that compete, man that's what it's all about."

Q:  How weird is it going to be not to be going to San Diego for the Chargers?

REID: "I don't know. I'll have to answer that when we get there, but it's going to be the same team so you can put us in the parking lot of the Safeway and we'd probably play the same way."

Q: Do you still give out a bunch of tickets? You've been in the league so long, do you still have to give out a bunch of tickets when you go to Southern California?

REID: "My wife deals with all that, I couldn't tell you if we're even giving one out, she deals with all that. Thank goodness."
