KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the 13th season, red flags will fly far and wide across Chiefs Kingdom as the Chiefs unveil their 2026 Red Thursday limited-edition flag design.
This year's limited-edition flag will once again feature Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid's iconic signature tagline, "How 'Bout Those Chiefs," on a red background with white and gold lettering and the Chiefs logo. Flags are available for presale online at shop.chiefs.com beginning at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, for a $10 donation, while supplies last. Proceeds will directly benefit Ronald McDonald House Kansas City.
"This tradition is unlike any other in the National Football League, and we are proud to have fans who go above and beyond to create a meaningful impact in our community," Chiefs Vice President of Community Impact and Civic Affairs Anne Scharf said. "The Kansas City Chiefs and the Hunt Family Foundation are excited to once again work with Ronald McDonald House Kansas City and McDonald's to do our part to help families stay together and focus on what matters most when a child is receiving medical care."
Red Thursday will be held on September 10, and limited-edition flags will be sold for a minimum $5 donation at McDonald's restaurants and other locations across the Kansas City metro. Exact locations for flag purchases will be revealed at a later date. Flags will also be available online at shop.chiefs.com for $10.
For the past 13 years, Chiefs Kingdom and the Hunt Family Foundation have rallied to raise more than $8 million for Ronald McDonald House Kansas City from limited-edition flag sales.
The annual initiative, started by Chiefs Founder Lamar Hunt and late Red Coaters President Jim Schwartz, was created 35 years ago to celebrate the beginning of the regular season while also supporting local Kansas City nonprofits and charities. Since 2013, the Chiefs have partnered with Ronald McDonald House Kansas City to offer support in its mission to remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing across children's healthcare.
