Series History

• The Chiefs defeated the 49ers, 38-27, in Week 3 of last season at Arrowhead Stadium. It marked the first game between the two teams at Arrowhead since 2010.

• Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for three touchdowns in last year's matchup with the 49ers, breaking an NFL record with 13 passing touchdowns through the first three weeks of the season.

• Saturday night's contest will mark the second time in the last three years that Kansas City and San Francisco will clash in the preseason. The 49ers defeated the Chiefs, 27-17, to kick off the preseason in 2017.
