Club to Kick Off Ninth-Annual Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive; Invites Fans and Community Members to Participate

Each year during the month of November and December, the Chiefs make hunger relief a key focus of the organization's outreach efforts. Through a partnership with Harvesters – Community Food Network, Hy-Vee, and CommunityAmerica Credit Union, as well as the help of the community, the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive can help provide food donations to benefit local families in need.

To celebrate the start of the annual Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive, members of the Chiefs Community Caring Team will join with representatives from Harvesters and Hy-Vee to assemble holiday meal boxes with the first donated items to the food drive.

Additionally, the club's December 31 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals will serve as the official Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive day at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. For the third year in a row, all Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive donations at the stadium will be monetary only – no boxed or canned food items will be collected outside the stadium gates. Fans attending the game are encouraged to donate to the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive by scanning the QR code displayed by volunteers as they enter stadium gates.

Fans who are not attending the final home game of the season, or fans who wish to make a monetary donation to the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive prior to the official Food Drive game can visit www.chiefs.com/fooddrive. Local area Hy-Vee stores will also take non-perishable food donations now through Sunday, December 31 as part of the Chiefs Kingdom Food Drive.

Last year, more than 207,000 meals were donated to food insecure neighbors throughout Chiefs Kingdom. Throughout the history of the program, more than 2.2 million meals have been generated locally.

For more information and where to donate, fans can visit www.chiefs.com/fooddrive.
