Injury Report: Here's Who Didn't Practice on Wednesday | Chiefs Training Camp 2021

Here’s a look at who didn’t take the field for the Chiefs on Wednesday

The Kansas City Chiefs kicked off the first real day of training camp on Wednesday as veteran players joined the quarterbacks, rookies and select individuals returning from injuries up in St. Joseph.

Among those who didn't take the field were defensive end Malik Herring (knee), tight end Nick Keizer (back), offensive lineman Kyle Long (leg), long snapper James Winchester (COVID protocols) and tailback Darwin Thompson (COVID protocols). Head Coach Andy Reid also mentioned that linebacker Anthony Hitchens tweaked his hamstring during practice.

Regarding Long, who injured his leg during Organized Team Activities last month, Reid mentioned that the veteran offensive lineman was making good progress.

"We'll just see how he does here," Reid said. "It's very similar to what [safety Dan] Sorensen went through a few years ago up here at camp."

The Chiefs return to the field on Thursday at 9:15 am CT for another day of practice.
