Ken Walker Earns "AFC Offensive Player of the Month" Honors for September

Walker leads the NFL in rushing yards through three weeks

It was a month to remember for tailback Ken Walker, and after leading the NFL in rushing yards through three weeks, the collective performance earned some recognition from the league.

Walker was named the "AFC Offensive Player of the Month" for September on Thursday following a three-game stretch in which he racked up a league-best 360 rushing yards while leading the NFL with 41 broken tackles.

Additionally, Walker is the only rusher to break double-digit tackles in a single game this season, and – remarkably – he did so in all three weeks to begin the year.

His impact has led to ripple effects throughout the rest of the Chiefs' offense, too, as Kansas City currently leads the NFL in passing yards on play-action passing attempts.

Walker is the first member of the Chiefs to earn "Player of the Month" honors since quarterback Patrick Mahomes did so in November of the 2022 season. The veteran tailback is off to a tremendous start in 2026, and now with a major matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders on deck, he'll aim to keep things rolling into October.
