Three Chiefs Land in CBS Sports Top 100 Players

Patrick Mahomes, Creed Humphrey and Chris Jones each made the list

Three members of the Kansas City Chiefs landed in CBS Sports' annual "Top 100 Players of 2026" rankings last week.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes (No. 7), center Creed Humphrey (No. 23) and defensive lineman Chris Jones (No. 62) each earned a spot on the list, which sought to rank the 100 best players in the league entering the 2026 season.

Mahomes, who owned the top spot on CBS' rankings a year ago, checked in at No. 7 this time around after throwing for 3,587 yards and 22 touchdowns in 14 games before suffering a season-ending torn ACL in mid-December.

CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, who assembled the rankings, was clear in his thoughts about Mahomes despite the injury:

"He's still one of the best – if not the best – quarterbacks in the league."

The man firing Mahomes the ball on every snap, Humphrey, also earned a spot in the rankings following another outstanding season by the fifth-year lineman. Humphrey was recognized with First-Team All-Pro honors for a second-consecutive year in 2025 after yielding a grand total of seven pressures – and zero sacks – on 708 pass-blocking snaps.

Here's more from Prisco on Humphrey:

"He was the best center in the league again last season, displaying the ability to move people in the run game and excel in pass protection. Patrick Mahomes has to love having him as his center."

On the other side of the ball, Jones landed in the rankings after racking up 63 pressures in 2025, the third-most among all interior defensive linemen last season.
