The Kansas City Chiefs and Ambassadors of Compassion joined forces to help feed the hungry of our community. More than 60 area relief organizations, including food pantries and church ministries, were identified by Harvesters and will benefit as a result of this year’s event. Tyson Foods donated in excess of 30,000 pounds of protein product and these local agencies received this much-needed nourishment for the people they serve.

The Chiefs Women’s Organization and presenting partner GEHA team up with the non-profit Operation Shower to host a “Magic & Wonder” themed group baby shower for military moms and moms-to-be. This year’s shower marks the second time the CWO has partnered with Operation Shower.

On Tuesday October 28, 2019 Chiefs alumnus Pro Football Hall of Famer Will Shields and current player Frank Clark held events throughout the community. Will Shields spoke to dozens of kids both in person at Central Middle and across the country via webcam as part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame “Heart of a Hall of Famer” program in conjunction with City Year KC. Frank Clark hosted a Halloween party at the Gregg/Klice Community Center, providing dinner, coats and some fun activities for local families.

In honor of the Crucial Catch initiative, members of the Chiefs Community Caring Team will visit the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. While there, patients currently residing at Hope Lodge will have the opportunity to participate in a game-day “pep rally” while getting manicures and massages and playing “tailgate” games.
