Andy Reid Has Knee Replacement Surgery, Will Miss NFL Scouting Combine

Reid will not be in attendance at the NFL Scouting Combine next week in Indianapolis

On Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced that head coach Andy Reid recently had knee replacement surgery, and because of that, will not attend the NFL Scouting Combine next week in Indianapolis.

Reid is currently rehabbing the knee in Kansas City.

The combine begins on Tuesday and will feature more than 300 of the best draft-eligible prospects in the country. They will go through medical checks, meet with teams and media, and go through a gauntlet of workouts with their peers.

It's one of the most important weeks for these prospects to not only impress NFL teams with their athletic ability, but also how they handle their interviews when they meet with the teams individually.

Chiefs general manager John Dorsey and his staff have consistently said they look for high character players who love football, and next week provides a great opportunity to figure out which players fit that mold heading into the 2016 NFL Draft.

The players arrive in Indianapolis on Tuesday, and here's a list of the workout schedules for each of the positional groups:

-          Friday, Feb. 26: Running Backs, Offensive Line, Special Teams

-          Saturday, Feb. 27: Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, Tight Ends

-          Sunday, Feb. 28: Defensive Line, Linebackers
