Chiefs Announce Special Events for 2017 Chiefs Training Camp Presented by Mosaic Life Care

The Kansas City Chiefs have announced a number of special days and events planned for the 2017 Chiefs Training Camp presented by Mosaic Life Care. Camp will take place in St. Joseph, Missouri, at Missouri Western State University, from Friday, July 28 until Wednesday, August 16. All guests are welcome. Unless noted below, all training camp practices are free of charge. Missouri Western charges a $5 parking fee per day. First Open Practice (Friday, July 28)

To launch training camp the Kansas City Chiefs will have a 3:30 p.m. practice followed by a full-team autograph session. Bleacher and hillside seating are available. If planning for hillside seating, pack a blanket or bag chair. Fans, be sure to grab the official Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp Guide for information about the team's stay in St. Joseph and to collect autographs. Admission for the event is $5 per person. Children ages three and under are admitted for free.

Season Ticket Member Day (Sunday, July 30)

As in years past, Season Ticket Members are invited to attend a pancake breakfast before practice and receive complimentary parking. Tickets for the pancake breakfast will be loaded to STMs' online accounts which they will be able to access and present upon entry. Chiefs Alumni, Cheerleaders and KC Wolf will be making guest appearances, and Chiefs Kingdom Rewards will be offering unique opportunities that STMs can participate in for the day. Following practice, there will be a full-team autograph session. Season Ticket Members will also have the opportunity to purchase merchandise at the Pro Shop for 30 percent off.  

Nickelodeon Worldwide Day of Play presented by the Chiefs Kids Club (Tuesday, Aug. 1)

The Chiefs Kids Club is excited to present Nickelodeon Worldwide Day of Play at Training Camp this year on Tuesday, August 1. Families will be welcomed by the famous characters SpongeBob and Patrick from Nickelodeon's hit TV show, SpongeBob SquarePants. There will be various Nickelodeon-themed activities throughout camp for kids to enjoy. In addition to Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play, the day will also be featured as the official Chiefs Kids Club day at camp.

Gatorade Junior Training Camp (Thursday, Aug. 3)

Train like the pros at the 2017 Gatorade Junior Training Camp on Thursday, August 3. The football clinic is focused on football fundamentals and skill development for athletes in the 12-14 age range. The camp will be held on the Spratt Memorial Stadium Complex field beginning at 8 a.m.

Special Scouts Days (Friday, Aug. 4 & Monday, Aug. 7)

Participating Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts will earn their Training Camp badge by completing a Play60 skills circuit, watching Chiefs practice and learning youth football safety techniques. Chiefs Training Camp is a great opportunity to see the Chiefs up-close and personal while participating in various activities set up throughout camp.

The Scouts will have 90 minutes to complete all the activity stations. All participating Scouts will receive a fun patch for their uniform and grand prize award winners will have the opportunity to participate in the Chiefs Helmet Walk immediately following practice. This is a free opportunity with limited enrollment. Cub Scouts will participate on Friday, August 4th and Girl Scouts will participate on Monday, August 7th.  

Family Fun Day (Saturday, Aug. 5)

The Kansas City Chiefs are back again with Family Fun Day on Saturday, August 5. Families can take part in the kids' zone complete with inflatables, a rock wall, face painting and balloon artists. KC Wolf, Warpaint and the Chiefs Cheerleaders will be available for photo opportunities. The day will also be devoted to the unveiling of the Chiefs Kingdom Red Friday Flag, launching its six-week, 12-stop tour. Following practice a full-team autograph session will take place. Admission for Family Fun Day is $5 per person. Children ages three and under are admitted for free.

Alumni Day (Sunday, Aug. 6)

During practice, Chiefs alumni are invited to a special VIP tent to watch practice. Throughout the day Chiefs Kingdom Rewards will be offering unique opportunities, and KC Wolf and Chiefs Cheerleaders will be making guest appearances. After practice, alumni will participate in an autograph session alongside the entire team. 

Military Appreciation Day/Last Day of Camp (Wednesday, Aug. 16)

The Kansas City Chiefs will again host Military Appreciation Day at Chiefs Training Camp presented by Mosaic Life Care. This day will provide select treatment for invited members of the armed forces, including soldiers stationed at local installations throughout Chiefs Kingdom such as Ft. Riley, Ft. Leavenworth, Whiteman AFB and Rosecrans Reserve ANGB. The event again comes on the closing day of training camp in St. Joseph and will include interaction by Chiefs players and coaches with these military members. Complimentary parking will be provided if military members show their Military ID.

Autograph Sessions by Position Groups                                           *            *

On days when the team is not doing a full-team autograph signing, certain position groups will be staying after practice to sign autographs for fans. Below is the position group autograph schedule:

  • Running Backs/Quarterbacks/Specialists: Saturday, July 29; Monday, August 7; Wednesday, August 16
  • Linebackers: Monday, July 31; Tuesday, August 8
  • Wide Receivers/Tight Ends: Tuesday, August 1; Sunday, August 13
  • Offensive Line/Defensive Line: Thursday, August 3; Monday, August 14
  • Defensive Backs: Friday, August 4; Tuesday, August 15

Food and beverage tents will be available before and during practice sessions.

The Kansas City Chiefs would like to remind everyone that although the team makes every attempt to practice outside in front of fans, if the club has to move practice inside due to weather or other reasons presented, practice will be closed and an announcement will be made via www.chiefs.com and on official team social media accounts. All walkthrough practices are closed to the public.
