The Kansas City Chiefs fell to the New York Giants, 12-9, in overtime at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Giants' kicker Aldrick Rosas connected on a 23-field goal with 1:54 remaining to deal the Chiefs their fourth loss of the season.

The game required an extra period following a literal last-minute drive by Kansas City in regulation.

The Chiefs covered 69 yards in just one minute and 37 seconds, setting up a 26-yard, game-tying field goal by rookie kicker Harrison Butker with just one second remaining.

Butker was responsible for all of Kansas City's points, drilling each of his three field goal attempts. The rookie kicker has made 22 straight kicks, matching Pete Stoyanovich (1997-98) and Ryan Succop (2011) for the franchise record.

Quarterback Alex Smith completed 27 of 40 passes for 230 yards on the afternoon, finding tight end Travis Kelce eight times for 109 yards. Kelce's eight catches matched a season-high.

The Chiefs will return home next week to take on the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium.
