Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles Officially Placed on IR; Spencer Ware Promoted from Practice Squad

The Chiefs officially placed Charles on injured reserve on Tuesday

After an MRI confirmed on Monday that Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles did suffer a torn ACL in their game last Sunday against the Chicago Bears, Charles was officially placed on injured reserve on Tuesday, which will end his season.

In a corresponding move, the Chiefs elevated running back/fullback Spencer Ware from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Ware was originally signed by the Chiefs last December and spent all offseason with the team. He entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks back in 2013 out of LSU.
