Kansas City Chiefs fans are passionate, enthusiastic and extremely proud of their city and their team. To acknowledge their loyalty the Chiefs organization created a special program for Season Ticket Holders.
Chiefs Season Ticket Holders who renewed during the 30 days leading up to the payment deadline were entered in a special rewards program referred to as the "Chiefs Signing Bonus." The program was a way for the Chiefs to say thank you to the fans for their continued support.
"The Signing Bonus promotion allowed us to show appreciation to our loyal Season Ticket Holders by rewarding them with opportunities to win unique prizes and experiences," Chiefs Customer Relations Manager Jayne Martin explained. "We have received a lot of great feedback of course from those that won, but also from Season Ticket Holders that were just excited to have the chance to win something simply by renewing."
30 drawings were conducted, one for each day from January 17th through February 15th. Some of the prizes included a tour of the Hall of Honor, an autographed jersey, or tickets to the 2013 Pro Bowl.
Last week, 21-year Season Ticket Holder Craig Zahnd received the last prize of the 30-day giveaway, two tickets to the 2014 Super Bowl.
"When they told me I had won, my reaction was one of surprise," Zahnd explained. "It took a while to sink in. They asked if I was interested in going and I said, 'of course I am!' I was thrilled. I've never been to a Super Bowl and always wanted to go."
Zahnd and his cousin have shared Chiefs season tickets since 1992.
"My cousin and I have shared these tickets for twenty years," Zahnd commented. "So he will go with me to the Super Bowl. We've already started making plans!"
Zahnd has been a lifelong Chiefs fan and has many fond memories of growing up at Arrowhead Stadium.
"I have been a Chiefs fan since I was born in northwest Missouri," Zahnd noted. "Sundays always revolved around church and the Chiefs. I especially cherished the many trips to Arrowhead with my father, uncle and cousin. At least once a year we would get up early, make the 100 mile drive to Kansas City, eat a huge breakfast near the stadium and then make our way in to our seats. "
For many Chiefs fans and Season Ticket Holders, they share a similar story of growing up around the Kansas City area, spending Sunday's at Arrowhead Stadium and developing a strong sense of pride for Kansas City and the Chiefs. The Chiefs organization recognizes fans devotion and acknowledges it throughout the year through programs such as the Chiefs Signing Bonus.
