The NFL announced today that the four-time Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will play the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, Sept. 5 at Corinthians Arena, in São Paulo, Brazil, for the NFL's Friday night Week 1 game. It will mark the second NFL regular season game to be contested in Brazil, following last year's Week 1 matchup.
"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to play the Chargers in São Paulo to help kick off the 2025 NFL season," Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said. "As a family and as an organization, we have made a commitment to growing the game of American football internationally. This commitment started with my father, Lamar Hunt, who was always finding ways to bring the game to new fans. The 2025 game in São Paulo is a tremendous opportunity for our team, and we are excited to bring Chiefs Kingdom to South America later this year."
The NFL previously announced that YouTube will exclusively stream the NFL's Friday night Week 1 game of the 2025-26 season, bringing the NFL to a worldwide audience for free on YouTube and YouTubeTV. It marks YouTube's first time as a live NFL broadcaster.

The Chiefs were originally awarded marketing rights for Germany and Mexico in December 2021 as part of the NFL's Global Markets Program and added Austria and Switzerland in April 2023. In March 2025, the NFL awarded the Chiefs Global Markets Program rights for the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Spain. With their appearance in Brazil in September, the Chiefs will have played regular season international games in four different countries (England, Mexico, Germany, and Brazil), more countries than any other club in the NFL. It marks the club's second international game against the Los Angeles Chargers (Estadio Azteca, Mexico City, November 18, 2019).
With Global Markets Program rights in the United Kingdom, Spain, Ireland, and Germany, as well as appearing in the Brazil game, the Chiefs are the only club in the NFL with the ability to activate in-market around each of the NFL's seven International Games for the 2025 slate.
The NFL has confirmed that the full 2025 schedule will be unveiled on NFL Network, the NFL App, NFL+ and www.NFL.com beginning at 7 p.m. CT tonight.
