Chiefs vs. 49ers: Snap Counts and Observations

Taking a look at the playtime percentages for the offense, defense and special teams against the 49ers

Offense:

•    All five offensive lineman played every snap (50)
•    De'Anthony Thomas saw six snaps on offense, and picked up a touchdown on the one pass thrown his direction
•    AJ Jenkins, who started in place of Donnie Avery, saw 33 snaps for 66 percent of the total.
•    Travis Kelce was on the field for 58 percent of the plays

Defense:

•    Four players played all 70 snaps on defense – Ron Parker, Josh Mauga, Sean Smith and Justin Houston
•    Vance Walker (13), Kevin Vickerson (25), Jaye Howard (38), Dontari Poe (58) and Allen Bailey (59) continue rotating along the defensive line.

MISC:

•    Chiefs got 144 snaps from players who weren't with the team at the beginning of the preseason. Jamell Fleming (3), Jerry Franklin (18), Kelcie McCray (20), Kurt Coleman (18), Kevin Vickerson (35) and Mike McGlynn (50)
•    Each team had 13 players who didn't take a single special teams snap
