Derrick Johnson and Jamaal Charles Make NFL's "Top 100 Players of 2016" List

NFL Network continued its series on Wednesday night, adding two more Chiefs to the list

During this week's airing of the "Top 100 Players of 2016" on NFL Network—a show that counts down and ranks the best players of last season from the voting of 700 current NFL players—the Kansas City Chiefs added two more names to the list, giving them six total as No. 80 to 71 were revealed on Wednesday night.

Veteran linebacker Derrick Johnson (No. 80) and running back Jamaal Charles (No. 75) join quarterback Alex Smith (No. 81), linebacker Tamba Hali (No. 84), tight end Travis Kelce (No. 91) and receiver Jeremy Maclin (No. 93) on the list for the Chiefs.

This list is determined solely by the votes of 700 current NFL players, which in a way, makes it more special considering the rankings come from votes of their peers.

It's the fourth time for both players to be listed on this countdown.

It's no surprise that Johnson made this list as he fought his way back from a season-ending Achilles injury in 2014 only to come back and lead the Chiefs with 116 total tackles in 2015, also adding 2 interceptions and 2 forced fumbles.

In Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers, Johnson also became the franchise's all-time leading tackler, passing former great Gary Spani (999).

Johnson comes in at No. 80 on this year's list.

A name that might surprise some on this list is Charles, who played in just five games before going down with a season-ending knee injury in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears.

Before the injury, Charles ran the ball 71 times for 364 yards with 4 touchdowns, adding 177 yards and a touchdown receiving as well.

Charles is one of the most dynamic playmakers in the NFL, and even with the injury, the fact that he ranked in the top 100 just goes to show the respect he has from players around the league.

Charles comes in at No. 75 on this year's list.
