The crazy time of year that is free agency is fast approaching, so KCChiefs.com has you covered with a 30-day free agency look, highlighting the 30 most intriguing free agents or players who could be released/traded during the offseason.

You may have noticed, there are no restricted free agents on the list, largely because they rarely leave their current teams. None of the reports are indicative of the Chiefs plans for the 2013 free agency season.

DAY 8 of 30

Delanie Walker, aka the 49ers Swiss Army Knife (for his versatility), finds himself in a good position, entering the free agent market, following a season that ended in the Super Bowl.

Sure, Walker's stock may have risen higher, had his team topped the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII, but it's likely that his numbers will have teams calling this offseason.

Walker finished with three catches, covering 48 yards, during the 34-31 loss to the Ravens. Here are some more of his numbers, as well as strengths and weaknesses.

Name: Delanie Walker
Position: TE
Height: 6'0
Weight: 242
College: Central Missouri State
Born: August 12, 1984 (Pomona, CA)
Age: 28
Experience: 7 years
Drafted: 2006, 6th Rd 6th Pick (175th Overall) by San Francisco 49ers

STRENGTHS:

Walker is very durable and worked well in the H-back roll with the 49ers. The athletic Walker has been described as the most valuable player on the 49ers offense, thanks to his versatile roles, blocking ability and high football IQ.

The former college wide receiver is described as a 'good company guy', who will do whatever is asked of him, according to a former teammate.

Walker's 2012 stat line:

16 games played (four starts), 21 receptions, 344 yards (16.4 yds-avg.) and three TDs, one of 45 yards.

WEAKNESSES:

After a few fumbles during both the 2008 and 2009 seasons, Walker has improved on his handle of pigskin, losing two in the last three years.

After a team-high 11 drops, Walker's pass-catching skills remain a questoin mark.

FINAL TAKE:

ESPN NFL Insider Bill Polian says of Walker, "At the right price, he's a good addition to a contending team. He's reliable."

It's likely that Delanie's wait by the phone won't be long when free agency begins on March 12, according to Eric Branch of the* San Francisco Chronicle*, who has Walker atop the list of potential 49er free agents.
