De’Anthony Thomas’ 95-yard kickoff return touchdown is keeping things close in Seattle

The Kansas City Chiefs are trailing the Seattle Seahawks, 16-10, at halftime in the third week of preseason action at CenturyLink Field on Friday night. 

De'Anthony Thomas scored Kansas City's lone touchdown of the half on a 95-yard kickoff return midway through the second quarter. Kicker Sam Ficken added a field goal for Kansas City.

Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson found fullback Tre Madden for a two-yard score midway through the second quarter for the Seahawks only touchdown of the evening. Kicker Blair Walsh has three field goals for the Seahawks.

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith completed seven of 17 passes for 44 yards in the half.

Kansas City leaned on its rushing attack through the majority of the half, running for 58 yards on 14 carries.

One of those rushers, Chiefs running back Spencer Ware, injured his knee on Kansas City's opening drive and has been ruled out for the remainder of the game.
