Pre-Camp Reads: Looking at OL Zach Fulton

Over the next few weeks, we will be taking a closer look at players on the Chiefs roster

Offensive lineman Zach Fulton enters his third season with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016. The Chiefs selected Fulton, a Tennessee product, with the 193rd overall pick in the sixth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Through his first two seasons, Fulton has compiled 22 regular season and two playoff starts for the Chiefs, playing a variety of different positions.

SEASON REVIEW

After starting at the right guard position in each of Kansas City's 16 regular-season games as a rookie in 2014, Fulton played more of a utility role for the Chiefs in 2015, compiling six starts.

Of the six regular-season starts in 2015, three were at the right guard position, two were at the left guard position and one was at the center position. Kansas City's Week 13 game against the Oakland Raiders was the first time Fulton played center in his career, even including his college football days at Tennessee.

With Mitch Morse in concussion protocol, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid called upon Fulton played center in each of Kansas City's playoff games, including the first franchise playoff win in more than two decades over the Houston Texans.

HOW HE FITS

Of the 15 offensive linemen currently on the Chiefs roster, Fulton is one of five players that have at least one regular-season start in any position on the line.

2016 OUTLOOK

In 2016, the 24-year-old Fulton will once again look to provide depth and versatility to a young offensive line.

Fulton's ability to play both guard positions and the center position makes him an extremely valuable piece in the Chiefs offensive line room.
