Second-Annual Red Friday Run Presented by GEHA Scheduled for Sept. 10; Registration Now Open

Participants to receive 2021 Red Friday flag as part of registration

The Kansas City Chiefs and Arrowhead Events are hosting the second-annual Red Friday Run presented by GEHA to coincide with the club's 30th year of the traditional Red Friday celebration on Friday, September 10. This year's edition of the race remains virtual and will be part of festivities leading up to the 2021 NFL season prior to the Chiefs hosting the Cleveland Browns at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for Week 1 on Sunday, September 12.

Registration is now open at www.chiefs.com/redfridayrun with two registration options available. Early-bird registration, which is open now through Friday, August 20, is $40 for the general public and $35 for Chiefs Season Ticket Members. Pre-event registration, which will last from Saturday, August 21 through Friday, September 10, is $45 for the general public and $40 for Season Ticket Members.

As part of their race registration, participants will receive this year's special edition Red Friday flag benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City (RMHC-KC), a Red Friday Run t-shirt and their race bib, mailed directly to the address provided during registration. In true Red Friday fashion, $5 from each registration will be donated to RMHC-KC. Additionally, all race participants will receive a free 30-day all-access trial membership to the newly opened Chiefs Fit located at 9290 Metcalf in Overland Park, Kansas.

With no official racecourse for this year's event, Chiefs fans throughout the country and all over the world can participate virtually with the option to complete the 5K however they choose, including running or walking in their neighborhood, in a local park, on a nature trail or from their treadmill.

While Friday, September 10 serves as the official day of the Red Friday Run, the virtual race will be open beginning Thursday, September 9 and will conclude on Monday, September 13. Once participants complete the 5K, they're asked to take a photo in their Chiefs/Red Friday 5K gear with their Red Friday flag and post on social media using #RedFriday.

The 2021 Red Friday Run presented by GEHA marks the 10th team-sponsored 5K run/walk for the Chiefs and Arrowhead Events and is designed to give all Chiefs fans the opportunity to connect with the team, even virtually. Whether you run or walk, finish with the fastest time or just run for fun, the Red Friday Run is designed for everyone to enjoy.
