Offensive Notes:

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin led Chiefs skill position players with 98 percent of snaps (63). The next closest player was tight end Travis Kelce, with 86 percent of snaps (55).

The Chiefs running back breakdown was as follows: Spencer Ware had 36 plays (56 percent) and Charcandrick West had 26 plays (41 percent).

Rookie WRs Tyreek Hill (seven snaps) and Demarcus Robinson (two snaps) saw some limited action against the Texans.* *

Defensive Notes:

Four Chiefs players were on the field for every defensive snap (100 percent, 72 snaps)—cornerback Marcus Peters, linebacker Derrick Johnson and safeties Eric Berry and Ron Parker.

CB Steve Nelson played in 70 defensive snaps (97 percent) and Phillip Gaines had 58 defensive snaps (81 percent).
