1. Draft producing receivers ready to make impact quicker than ever
By Terez Paylor - The Kansas City Star
"With four wide receivers widely considered to be first-round locks for the 2015 NFL Draft — and a few more garnering some first-round buzz — it certainly appears to be a great time to be a wideout-needy team like the Chiefs.
Of course, even with that said, this year's crop might not be able to match the star power or production of last year's crop at the position. Five receivers went in the first round in 2014, including blossoming stars like Buffalo's Sammy Watkins, Tampa Bay's Mike Evans and New York's Odell Beckham, Jr., who were all long gone well before the Chiefs picked 23rd overall." 2. NFL Combine: Five Takeaways from the DL/LB Drills
By Rob Rang - CBS Sports
"After Jadeveon Clowney and Khalil Mack were each selected in the top five a year ago, it seemed preposterous to think that the 2015 NFL Draft could be even more blessed with pass rushers. Sunday's defensive line and linebacker drills, however, provided plenty of evidence that this might indeed be the case.
Several collegiate defensive ends who will be asked to make the transition to outside linebacker in the NFL demonstrated that they have the agility, speed and explosiveness to handle this conversion with Clemson's Vic Beasley, Florida's Dante Fowler, Jr. and Nebraska's Randy Gregory enjoying particularly impressive performances. What's even more exciting for NFL scouts is that Missouri's Shane Ray did not participate (citing a foot injury sustained in the bowl game) and some expect that he'll match or even exceed some of Beasley's eye-popping numbers when he works out at the Tigers' March 19 Pro Day." 3. Chiefs coach Andy Reid says he remains happy with team's power structure
By Terez Paylor - The Kansas City Star
"With two full seasons as the Chiefs' coach under his belt, it looks like Andy Reid isn't having any problems staying in his lane.
Reid, who once had full personnel power in Philadelphia, was asked during the NFL Combine why he's comfortable working with a strong general manager in John Dorsey." READ MORE…
4. Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston shine at NFL combine
By Phil Sheridan - ESPN.com
"Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston went into the NFL scouting combine as the consensus top quarterback prospects in this year's draft.
After several days of being measured, weighed, interviewed, timed and put through their paces, nothing has changed. Mariota and Winston still look exactly the same as they did based on their college careers." READ MORE…
5. Chiefs trying to decide whether Murray, Pryor could be No. 2 QB
By Adam Teicher - ESPN.com
"The Kansas City Chiefs might need to decide soon whether between Aaron Murray and Terrelle Pryor they have a No. 2 quarterback they're comfortable with.
The backup to Alex Smith for the past two season has been Chase Daniel, but his $4.8 million salary-cap figure could be too much of a burden for the Chiefs as they comply with the NFL's salary limit." READ MORE…
