KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Chiefs are embracing their global presence with an unprecedented musical collaboration. The team has partnered with Brazilian pop sensation Luísa Sonza to release an official Portuguese version of its iconic fan song, "Red Kingdom."
Titled "Red Kingdom BR," the track is a reimagined take on "Red Kingdom," originally created by Kansas City native and rap legend Tech N9ne, which has become a staple for Chiefs fans worldwide. The song is now available on all major digital platforms and is accompanied by an official music video.
This project is more than a marketing campaign. By fusing the Chiefs' identity with Brazilian funk and trap, the anthem serves as a cultural gateway, connecting the team with a new audience and building a community that extends beyond the stadium.
Recorded entirely in Portuguese, the new version blends the raw energy of the original with Sonza's unique vocal style and the vibrant mix of Brazilian rhythms. "It's so special to put my own touch on Tech N9ne's song, which means so much to Chiefs fans. Mixing that pure Kansas City energy with Brazilian rhythms was such a unique experience. I can now say I'm officially part of the Chiefs family too. Vai Chiefs!", said Luísa Sonza.
"'Red Kingdom' has been at the heart of KC fandom for years now. I'm so happy to share my song with the team I've always loved as they move to an even BIGGER global stage. And it's beautiful hearing it re-imagined by a female artist who embodies a whole different culture and energy – L9VE where Luísa took it!" said Kansas City-based rapper, singer, and original song artist, Tech N9ne.
This groundbreaking partnership aligns with the team's push to expand their global reach and be known as a leading sports and entertainment brand around the world. The collaboration reinforces the Chiefs' reputation as an innovative brand in sports, pioneering a modern approach to global fan development that goes beyond traditional marketing.
"We are on a culture-first mission to make sure Chiefs Kingdom is heard around the world, and our next stop is Brazil," said Lara Krug, Executive Vice President and Chief Media and Marketing Officer for the Kansas City Chiefs. "Partnering with a global superstar like Luísa to bring her authentically Brazilian vision to Tech's anthem is an exciting way to connect fans through music and passion. From stadium tailgates to home watch parties, 'Red Kingdom' has become the soundtrack of our fans – now it's resonating across the globe.
"Red Kingdom BR" positions the Chiefs as a true pioneer in media development by a sports franchise. The reinvention of Tech N9ne's anthem is a metaphor for the Chiefs' own evolution: a move from solely a sports team to a global lifestyle and cultural brand. By creating entertainment that resonates beyond traditional football—from the ESPN Original series The Kingdom to the Hallmark movie Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story—the Chiefs are expanding their cultural footprint, deepening emotional ties, and building a global fanbase, all in pursuit of their mission to become the world's team.
