Chiefs Team Up with the Elf of the Shelf for "A Month of Mischief" to Celebrate the Holiday Season

The Kingdom Christmas Celebration Continues, Anchored by an All-New Holiday Short Featuring Mahomes, Kelce and Other Fan Favorites

Just as Santa and his elves are working around the clock in preparation for Christmas Day, the Kansas City Chiefs have been hard at work as well, gearing up to show the world, once again, that no one does Christmas like the Chiefs.

With the team's third consecutive Christmas Day game on the horizon, this year's Kingdom Christmas promises to be the most memorable yet as fans are invited to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with a full lineup of holiday festivities, both on and off the field.

"The holidays have always been about bringing people together, and there's nothing quite like the energy in Chiefs Kingdom this time of year," said Chiefs President Mark Donovan. "Christmas gives us a unique opportunity to unite our fans, celebrate our community, and create moments that last forever. With 'Merry Mischief' and a full month of holiday fun, we're embracing everything that makes this team and this city so special."

The biggest gift under this year's Kingdom Christmas tree is "Merry Mischief." This heartwarming and playful short follows the adventures of an Elf on the Shelf – cleverly named "Kelce on the Shelfie" – which finds itself "home alone" at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium while the team is away. Through "Kelce on the Shelfie's" mischief and hijinks, the magical Elf ultimately rallies the team and Chiefs Kingdom, just in time for the Christmas Day game against the Denver Broncos.

Fans of all ages will delight in seeing Claymation versions of Patrick Mahomes, Trent McDuffie, Chris Jones, George Karlaftis, Xavier Worthy, Travis Kelce and Head Coach Andy Reid in an unforgettable holiday treat that's the perfect appetizer for another Christmas Day game.

The "Merry Mischief" teaser is now live on the Chiefs’ YouTube channel, with the full-length short being released at 8 a.m. CST on Wednesday, Dec. 24. Both the "Merry Mischief" teaser and the full-length short will also be available on the club's Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and X/Twitter accounts.

A Month of Mischief: How Chiefs Kingdom Celebrates Christmas

Why stop at one big reveal? In Chiefs Kingdom, we do the holidays the only way we know how – loud, proud and for everyone. Here are a few more gifts coming down the chimney this month:

Kingdom Scout Elf Contest

Chiefs fans, it's your time to shine (or scheme). As the first NFL team to collaborate with the Elf on the Shelf and its parent company, Lumistella, we're inviting fans to show off their creativity with photos styling their own Elf on the Shelf as the world's biggest (well, smallest…) Chiefs fan through fun scenes, clever signs or unexpected hijinks.

Fans with Elves showing the most Kingdom Christmas spirit will be entered to win incredible prizes, such as a VIP gameday experience, player-signed jerseys or other awesome Chiefs gear. The only limitation is your imagination…but make sure whatever you submit won't land you on the "naughty list." Keep it light, keep it fun and keep it jolly!

To submit entries for the Kingdom Scout Elf Contest and for official rules, visit www.chiefs.com/kingdomchristmas/.

Mascot Meet-Up

The Elf on the Shelf will also make live gameday appearances throughout the stadium as part of our Mascot Meetup, an opportunity for fans to make lasting Christmas memories with the Elf and our beloved KC Wolf. Fans in attendance for the Christmas Day game can meet the Elf on the Shelf during the pregame parade or in the Hall of Honor during the third quarter. Selfies encouraged. Holiday spirit required.

Gifting Christmas Day Miracles

During this season of giving, it's important that we continue giving back to the community that's supported our team wholeheartedly throughout the years. That's why our Community Caring Team and the Salvation Army are busy planning a Christmas miracle for a deserving Kansas City-area family in need of a little extra cheer this holiday season. Our selected family, to be announced at a later date, will enjoy an unforgettable day of VIP treatment including field passes, participation in the game's ceremonial First Pass, visits from KC Wolf and the Chiefs Cheerleaders and other gifts and experiences that'll make this Christmas extra special.

The family's once-in-a-lifetime gameday experience will be shared across all our social channels in the days following the Christmas Day game as a look-back on an incredible Kingdom Christmas season.

"The holidays mean something special in Chiefs Kingdom, and we wanted to create something that truly brings that spirit to life," said Lara Krug, Chiefs EVP and Chief Media & Marketing Officer. "So much of this season is about family traditions – the moments we share, the experiences we pass down and the joy that carries from one generation to the next. This year's Kingdom Christmas blends imagination, tradition and a touch of mischief to help families make those memories together and feel even more connected to the team they love. It's our way of extending the magic of the season across the entire Kingdom."
