NFL Power Rankings: Where Do the Chiefs Rank After Monday Night's Victory?

Where do the experts have the Chiefs in the latest NFL power rankings?

The Kansas City Chiefs won a thriller on Monday night, climbing back from a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat the Denver Broncos in front of a national television audience.

It was a gutsy performance in the midst of a raucous crowd at Mile High, and four weeks into the season, the Chiefs now stand alone as the lone undefeated team in the AFC.

And, once again, the experts were impressed.

NFL.com analyst Elliot Harrison has the Chiefs at No. 2 in his latest NFL power rankings following Kansas City's late-game heroics, behind only the Los Angeles Rams (4-0).

Here's a portion of what Harrison had to say:

Superlatives are thrown around far too often in the NFL, especially with quarterbacks, but how can anyone not be amazed at Patrick Mahomes' performance Monday night? This wasn't a Tecmo Super Bowl outing, where Mahomes and friends posted crazy numbers. Nope, instead this was a hard-fought AFC West showdown, with the Broncos' defense being the first unit to get its second viewing of the league's newest phenom.

Interestingly enough, the Chiefs will play Harrison's No. 3 ranked team, the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1), this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.

The folks at ESPN mirrored Harrison's rankings, slotting the Chiefs in at No. 2 behind the Rams and one spot ahead of Jacksonville. Bleacher Report also concurred with that ranking, listing the Chiefs at No 2.

Bleacher Report cited Kansas City's response to adversity as the reason for the Chiefs' high ranking.

Through their first three games of the 2018 season, the Kansas City Chiefs had yet to be tested. Patrick Mahomes and an explosive Kansas City offense had been boat-racing hapless defenses. Monday night in Denver, the Chiefs got that test—and passed it with flying colors. Facing a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter, Mahomes didn't look the part of a second-year pro. He coolly made play after play, guiding the Chiefs on a pair of touchdown drives that earned KC its fourth win in as many tries. For the night, Mahomes had 192 passing yards outside the pocket.

It all made for an exhilarating victory on Monday night, and it sets up a tremendous matchup with Jacksonville this Sunday at Arrowhead. Reserve your seat by clicking here.
