Power Rankings Week 3 | Where do the Chiefs Rank After Sunday's Win?

Here’s a look at the latest NFL “power rankings” from around the web

The Kansas City Chiefs came back to pull off a thrilling victory in overtime on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, preserving their perfect record this season and extending their winning streak to 11 games dating back to last year, which matches a franchise record.

Here's a look at where the Chiefs landed in the various "power rankings" around the web following the victory.

The Chiefs sit atop ESPN’s rankings entering Week 3, as they hold the No. 1 spot ahead of the Baltimore Ravens, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints. Analyst Adam Teicher cited tight end Travis Kelce's strong start to the season as one of several reasons for the Chiefs' perfect start in 2020.

"Kelce, with two touchdowns in two games, is on pace to exceed his career best in scoring."

The folks at CBS Sports and The Sporting News also have Kansas City at No. 1 in their rankings headed into Week 3. Analyst Pete Prisco's explanation was simple enough:

"It wasn't pretty against the Chargers, but they found a way."

Elsewhere, the Chiefs have some competition at the top.

NFL.com, USA Today, Yahoo! Sports, The Ringer and Bleacher Report each slotted the Chiefs in at No. 2 this week behind Baltimore, setting the stage for an epic clash between the two best teams in the NFL on Monday Night Football in Week 3. Yahoo! Sports' analyst Frank Schwab summed it up nicely:

"The Chiefs-Ravens game next Monday night is going to be a beauty. No football fan should miss it."

The Chiefs also checked in at No. 2 in Sports Illustrated’s rankings, trailing only Seattle. Here's what analyst Connor Orr had to say about Kansas City:

"It is frustrating when you develop a fairly successful coverage plan against the Chiefs, only to have Patrick Mahomes rush for 54 yards, pick up a whole bunch of first downs and destroy your defense another way. This offense is unbeatable and has the luxury of flowing from a Super Bowl into a condensed offseason. We will see how they handle yet another formidable challenge next week."

The Chiefs will look to re-claim the top spot across the board next week with Monday night's prime-time matchup against the Ravens.
