Third-Annual Red Friday Run Presented by GEHA Scheduled for Sept. 9; Registration Now Open!

Participants to Receive 2022 Red Friday Flag as part of Registration

The Kansas City Chiefs and Arrowhead Events are hosting the third-annual Red Friday Run presented by GEHA to coincide with the club's 31st year of the traditional Red Friday celebration. With the Chiefs opening at home against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football during Week 2, Chiefs Kingdom will celebrate Red Friday and the Red Friday Run presented by GEHA on Friday, September 9.

This year's edition of the race remains virtual and will be part of festivities leading up to the start of the 2022 NFL season.

Registration is now open at www.chiefs.com/redfridayrun with three registration options available.

Early-Bird Registration

Now – Sunday, July 31

  • $35 for the public
  • $30 for Chiefs Season Ticket Members

Pre-Event Registration

Monday, August 1 – Wednesday, August 31

  • $40 for the public
  • $35 for Chiefs Season Ticket Members

Last-Minute Registration

Thursday, September 1 – Sunday, September 18 (last day of virtual race)

  • $45 for the public
  • $40 for Chiefs Season Ticket Members

As part of their race registration, participants will receive this year's special edition Red Friday flag benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City (RMHC-KC), a Red Friday Run t-shirt and their race bib, mailed directly to the address provided during registration. Additionally, all race participants will receive a 30-day all-access pass for either Chiefs Fit location, and they will also have the option to add-on an exclusive long sleeve half-zip pullover to their race registration.

With no official racecourse for this year's event, Chiefs fans throughout the country and all over the world can participate virtually with the option to complete the 5K however they choose, including running or walking in their neighborhood, in a local park, on a nature trail or from their treadmill.

While Friday, September 9 serves as the official day of the Red Friday Run, the virtual race will be open beginning Thursday, September 8 and will conclude on Sunday, September 18. Once participants complete the 5K, they're asked to take a photo in their Chiefs/Red Friday 5K gear with their Red Friday flag and post on social media using #RedFriday.

The 2022 Red Friday Run presented by GEHA marks the 11th team-sponsored 5K run/walk for the Chiefs and Arrowhead Events. It is designed to give all Chiefs fans the opportunity to connect with the team, even virtually. Whether you run or walk, finish with the fastest time or just run for fun, the Red Friday Run is designed for everyone to enjoy.
