Chiefs Team with Coca-Cola for Augmented Reality Away Trip Experience

The Kansas City Chiefs and Coca-Cola have teamed up to present a first of its kind campaign, Coca-Cola Refreshing Moments in Chiefs History. Fans will have the opportunity to collect special codes that will qualify them for a chance to win tickets to the Chiefs-Cowboys game on Nov. 5, 2017 in Arlington, Texas, as well as other prizes.  

For the first time in the United States, Coca-Cola is partnering with a professional sports franchise to integrate augmented reality. The technology is a live direct or indirect view of a physical, real-world environment whose elements are augmented by computer generated sensory input.

"We're excited to team up with our long-term partner Coca-Cola for this campaign that features a new interactive and innovative way for fans to engage in the Chiefs Mobile app," Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. "Thanks to our partners at YinzCam, we are using new and exciting technology to offer our fans this unique experience."

To enter for the chance to win prizes, fans will need to download the app on their mobile device at Chiefs.com/mobile or update to the latest version of the Chiefs Mobile app. Fans can then purchase the special edition Chiefs Coca-Cola 16-ounce can that will be sold in grocery stores and gas stations throughout Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska, distributed by regional bottler Heartland Coca-Cola.

"Along with Coca-Cola and the Chiefs, we are thrilled to collaborate on this unique opportunity that features our limited edition Chiefs-branded Coca-Cola can," Heartland Coca-Cola President and COO Rick Frazier said. "With this technology, we look forward to celebrating these refreshing moments in team history with fans of the Chiefs and Coca-Cola."

To begin participating in the contest, fans will need to find a total of six different codes, embedded within various Chiefs highlight videos, and enter them in Chiefs Kingdom Rewards for a chance to win. One grand-prize winner will win a trip for two people to Dallas which includes airfare, a one-night hotel stay and game tickets to the Cowboys-Chiefs game. Ten winners will receive a $100 Chiefs Team Store gift card and 25 winners will be receive 2,000 Chiefs Kingdom Rewards points.

The campaign is just one of the many ways the organization is innovating and improving the fan experience at Arrowhead Stadium and in the Chiefs Mobile app with the help from mobile app provider YinzCam.
