The Kansas City Chiefs took the field for the third practice of training camp on Friday morning as they continued their preparation for the upcoming season.
Here's a quick rundown of what took place during Friday's practice, and for reference, all previous practice reports are available below:
1. We livestreamed a portion of Friday's practice.
As we do every year, we livestreamed a portion of Friday's practice on the Chiefs' YouTube page.
The stream featured portions of Friday's 7-on-7 segment in addition to a conversation about the Chiefs' quarterback and defensive back rooms.
2. Wide receiver Cyrus Allen was responsible for the play of the day.
Allen made the play of the day, and maybe of camp so far, when he recorded a one-handed catch amidst double coverage during 11-on-11 drills.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who once again competed in 11-on-11 drills on Friday as he continues to work his way back from last season's knee injury, gave his rookie wide receiver a chance by firing the ball into coverage downfield, and Allen didn't waste the opportunity. The sixth-round pick leapt and corralled the pass with one hand before securing the grab as multiple defenders closed in around him, eliciting a collective roar from the thousands of fans in attendance.
It was a continuation of what has been a strong camp so far for Allen, who later made another impressive grab near the sideline during 7-on-7 drills.
"He's done a nice job. The quarterback trusts him," said Head Coach Andy Reid. "He has to clean some things up, but he's willing to work at it and do that. He's had a productive few days, but he needs to keep stacking those as he goes. Then we'll get the pads on, and see from there."

3. Wide receiver Nikko Remigio recorded a diving touchdown grab.
If Allen's aforementioned catch wasn't already worth the trip to practice, Remigio provided the crowd with another reason to cheer on Friday when he completed a diving touchdown grab during 7-on-7 drills.
The play saw Remigio dive for the pass, make the grab and roll mid-air so that the ground didn't interfere with the catch. It was a textbook reception that earned a well-deserved roar from those on-hand.
4. The Chiefs continued their "ramp up" toward padded practices, which will begin next week.
Kansas City is working through the league-mandated "ramp up" period that eases the players – relatively speaking – into the eventual goal of padded practices that span two hours and twenty-five minutes.
The Chiefs took the field for one hour and twenty-five minutes during Wednesday's opening practice before competing for an additional 15 minutes on Thursday. Friday's practice was then one hour and 55 minutes.
The plan dictates that Kansas City will take part in another practice of the one hour and 55-minute variety on Saturday, followed by a day off on Sunday and then – at long last – a padded practice on Monday.
As for the Chiefs' progress so far in the "ramp up," Coach Reid was pleased following Friday's practice:
"I liked the competition that was going on today," said Head Coach Andy Reid. "[There was] great effort. [The] guys were challenging each other on both sides of the ball, which is important [when it comes to] getting better."
5. Here's a look at Friday's injury report.
Defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott (knee) remains on the "Physically Unable to Perform" list (PUP), and did not participate in Friday's practice.
Additionally, defensive end Ashton Gillotte left practice early due to a strained hamstring, although Coach Reid indicated following practice that he didn't think the injury was serious.
Next up, the Chiefs will take the field on Saturday for the fourth practice of training camp. For a look at the training camp schedule or for more information on how to reserve tickets, click here.
