Thousands of Season Ticket Members Enjoy Food Trucks and Football at Annual Training Camp Tailgate

General Manager Brett Veach, defensive tackle Chris Jones and cornerback Bashaud Breeland each stopped by the tailgate to thank Season Ticket Members for their support

Chiefs Kingdom is synonymous with a good tailgate, and as Season Ticket Members made their way to training camp on Sunday, the Chiefs found a way to bring that tradition to them.

From various food trucks to appearances by Chiefs' General Manager Brett Veach, defensive tackle Chris Jones and cornerback Bashaud Breeland, it all made for a morning to remember at the annual Season Ticket Member Tailgate just steps away from practice.

"There are a ton of people up here and it's been a lot of fun," said Season Ticket Member Derek Griffin. "It's awesome and just another great added feature of being an STM."

The event – which was free to enter for all Season Ticket Members and took place on the Bill Snyder Pavilion overlooking the Missouri Western football stadium – featured food trucks courtesy of HyVee, VanZinos BBQ, Nothing Bundt Cakes and Barrel O' Fun snacks, enhancing the camp experience beyond its already lofty standards.

"[Chiefs Chairman & CEO] Clark Hunt has done a wonderful job doing things for the Season Ticket Members," said STM Joe Patterson. "We've had the chance to do a lot of fun things here lately, and this was a nice touch. We want to thank him for that."

And as practice finished up, those that stuck around were greeted with a surprise appearance from Veach, Jones and Breeland.

"We want to appreciate you guys for the support because it means a lot," Jones said in front of the crowd. "This franchise started sixty years ago, and we're trying to bring a championship back home."

Booming cheers soon followed Jones' remarks, echoing the palpable energy that has been evident each and every day so far at camp – and it hasn't gone unnoticed.

"These fans travel from great distances to be here and we just appreciate their support to help us get through some of these hot summer days," Veach said. "Our guys have really been getting after it the last few days, so that energy that the crowd gives them really helps us through it."

Kansas City Chiefs Season Ticket Members were treated to a special food truck tailgate event during Sunday's Training Camp practice.

The tailgate was just one of the many benefits of being a Season Ticket Member, which allots fans a slew of exclusive opportunities and events throughout the year. The Chiefs hosted the annual Pancake Breakfast up at camp a few weeks back, the annual “Pick-Up Party" in late July, Draft Fest on the Arrowhead grass back in May, the Rookie STM Event for first-time Season Ticket Members, the annual First Look event at minicamp and even a behind-the-scenes tour of Production Day for a handful of lucky fans in June.

And there are even more exclusive opportunities on the horizon as the Chiefs prepare to embark on what has all the makings of an unforgettable season. As a Season Ticket Member, that experience simply elevates to the next level.

"We have such a great fanbase and we tell all the guys in the draft and free agency that this is a special place because of the people here in Kansas City and the fanbase that we have," Veach said. "It's just really special."
