Chris Orr enters his first season with Kansas City as defensive quality control coach in 2025. Orr previously spent time with the Chiefs as a football intern in 2024.
Prior to joining the Kansas City coaching staff, Orr spent time with Baylor University serving as assistant linebackers coach in 2024. Orr was tasked with assisting Head Coach Dave Aranda and Coach Jamar Chaney with the linebacker group. Orr also spent a part of 2024 with HBCU National Champion Jackson State University as linebackers coach and run game coordinator. From 2021-23, Orr served as director of player development at his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Orr signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2020 and spent one NFL season with them. Prior to joining the Panthers as an undrafted free agent, Orr spent five seasons at University of Wisconsin-Madison (2015-19) where he was a four-time NCAA Division I Scholarship Student-Athlete letter winner, a Lott Impact semifinalist and a team captain. He is also the record holder for most sacks by an inside/middle linebacker in school history, recording 11.5 sacks in his senior season.
The Orr family has a long football linage. Orr's father, Terry Orr, played collegiately at the University of Texas (1980-84) and professionally for the Washington Redskins (1984-93) where he was a two-time Super Bowl champion. His brother, Zach, is currently the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. Zach played his collegiate football at North Texas (2011-14) and professionally for the Ravens (2014-16). Nick Orr played at TCU from 2014-18 and professionally for the Chicago Bears in 2018. Terrance Orr is currently the head coach at Mesquite Poteet High School.
The DeSoto, Texas, native received his Bachelor of Science in Life Science Communication (2018) and his Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis (2019) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
