Biography
Kevin Higgins begins his 10th season with the club in 2026 and is in his sixth season as the Vice President of Information Technology/CISO after being promoted to the position on Sept. 8, 2021.
Reporting to the club's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Higgins originally joined the franchise in 2017 as the Director of Information Technology and in 2019, added the title of Club Information Security Officer to his duties.
In his role he oversees the operations, management and security of information assets and technology resources for the club as well as Hunt Midwest. He and his staff handle all technology-related needs for the club, including device security and management, network security, product management, software development and help desk support. For his efforts, Higgins was recognized as a CIO Award recipient by the Info-Tech Research Group in 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024 for extraordinary technology leadership. This award recognizes CIOs who have achieved a world-class level of business leadership satisfaction.
Throughout 2025, Higgins and his team focused on strengthening Arrowhead Stadium's core technology foundation while advancing innovation across the organization. A multi‑year modernization effort was completed with the full upgrade of the stadium's Wi‑Fi and distributed antenna system (DAS), significantly improving connectivity, capacity, and resiliency for fans, staff, and large‑scale events. The technology organization also advanced several artificial intelligence–related initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and unlocking new revenue opportunities, while maintaining strong governance and oversight. In support of these efforts, Higgins oversaw both the Fan Privacy and Artificial Intelligence Steering Committees, ensuring that emerging technologies were deployed responsibly and in alignment with organizational values, regulatory expectations, and fan trust.
Prior to joining the Chiefs, Higgins held multiple director-level and executive roles in the information technology space focusing on data-informed technical and operational solutions to meet a variety of business needs. These stops included three years as the Chief Technology Officer at Ad Astra Information Systems in Overland Park, Kansas (2015-17), three years as IT Director for the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine in Leawood, Kansas (2013-15), and nearly seven years as Director of E-Commerce and Marketing Solutions at Collective Brands, Inc. in Topeka, Kansas (2007-13).
In addition, he made three professional stops in Atlanta, Georgia, in various IT capacities, including as the Director of Product Development at PRGX Inc. (2006-07) and Vice President of IT and E-Commerce at Anderson Press Inc. (2003-06). He also served as Chief Architect and Owner for Digital Research Enterprises, Inc., a family-owned professional services, software development and business consulting firm (1995-03).
Higgins graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer science from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga.
