Chiefs Announce Pair of Executive Promotions as Part of Ongoing Stadium and Practice Facility Projects

Matt Kenny Named Chiefs Operations Officer and Brandon Hamilton Promoted to Project Executive, Facilities Development

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced a pair of executive promotions directly related to the club's new stadium and practice facility projects – as well as the surrounding developments.

Matt Kenny has been promoted from Executive Vice President of Arrowhead Operations and Events to Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. In addition, Brandon Hamilton has been elevated from Vice President of Stadium Operations and Facilities to Project Executive, Facilities Development.

"This is an exciting day for the Chiefs as we recognize what Matt, Brandon, and their teams have accomplished, while also looking ahead to the next phase of growth for our organization and this region through continued investment and development," Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. "We're confident in Matt's leadership as we continue to evolve our special events, stadium, practice facility, and real estate initiatives, and Brandon's experience in venue management and construction positions him well to lead the complex projects and partnerships that will shape our future. We could not be more excited to have Matt and Brandon stepping into these roles."

Kenny originally joined the Chiefs as the Vice President of Stadium Services and Events in 2017 and is entering his 10th season with the club in 2026, having been elevated to Executive Vice President of Arrowhead Operations and Events in 2021. In his current role, he oversees the security, operations, and fan experience of GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and The University of Kansas Health System Training Complex. His purview includes capital planning, facilities, maintenance, grounds, parking and logistics, event operations, guest services, as well as concessions and merchandise partners. He also oversees Arrowhead Events, the non-football revenue-generating arm of the Chiefs, serves as the organization's executive lead on training camp, and is the club's primary point of contact with the Jackson County Sports Complex Authority.

In his new role, Kenny will maintain his current responsibilities and oversight while assuming a leadership role in the design, development, execution, and operations of the team's new stadium, practice facility, and mixed-use developments.

"I'd like to thank the Hunt family and Chiefs President Mark Donovan for their continued support and belief in our operational direction," Kenny said. "What we accomplish every day, from the stadium and practice facility to our engagement with Season Ticket Members and special events, is a testament to the team that's been built here. This is an incredibly exciting time for our organization and Chiefs Kingdom, and I'm honored to not only uphold the legacy that's been established but also help steward these transformational projects for the Kansas City region in the years ahead."

Alongside other staff as well as key civic leaders, Kenny has helped secure multiple major events for the Kansas City region, including six matches at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium as part of 2026 FIFA World Cup, the 2023 NFL Draft, and re-introduced major NCAA Division I college football at the home of the Chiefs with the 2025 Battle Sports Kansas City Classic. He sits on the Board of Directors for the Kansas City Sports Commission and KC2026.

Prior to joining the Chiefs, Kenny spent five years as the Senior Director of Event Operations for the Chicago Cubs and also served as Senior Director of Security and Event Services for the Milwaukee Brewers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Kenny is an alumnus of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management.

Hamilton is entering his 17th season with the organization in 2026 after joining the Chiefs in 2010 as the Director of Facilities and being promoted to Vice President of Stadium Operations and Facilities in May 2017. During that time, he was responsible for facility management at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and The University of Kansas Health System Training Complex, overseeing all aspects of stadium systems, stadium maintenance, stadium grounds, and led the club's sustainability efforts. In addition to regular maintenance of facilities and systems, Hamilton helped lead many of the organization's most significant facility improvements and capital development projects, including a three-year seat replacement initiative, video board technology upgrades, suite upgrades, and a complete remodel of the Chiefs Team Store. He also helped manage the complete reimagination of the Chiefs Hall of Honor and the stadium's home locker room complex, both of which opened in advance of the 2021 football season. Over the past three years, Hamilton has led all renovation efforts to ensure that the historic and iconic football venue meets all requirements for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including a seat removal project, a widened pitch, as well as major electrical and broadcast upgrades.

In his new role, which will continue reporting to Kenny, Hamilton will serve as the club's construction lead on all aspects of the Chiefs new facilities projects, including the new stadium as well as the new practice facility. Throughout all phases of both projects, he will work directly with architects, engineers, construction managers, partners, and subcontractors.

Hamilton is a member of the NFL Green Initiatives program that plans and hosts discussion webinars for other NFL clubs. He is also a member of the Stadium Managers Association and recently joined its Board of Directors. He also directs the club's Extra Yard for the Environment program, a sustainability initiative designed to devise and implement new environmentally responsible practices throughout the organization. In 2021, Hamilton was named to the Board of Directors of the Green Sports Alliance, an environmentally focused 501c(6) trade organization that promotes healthy, sustainable communities through sports. In the spring of 2026, Hamilton and his team helped GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium secure LEED Gold Certification from the USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council).

Prior to joining the Chiefs, Hamilton served as Program Manager at The Konrath Group, having worked on the renovation to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium between 2007-10. Hamilton received his bachelor's degree in geology and geography from Northwest Missouri State University in 1995 and completed studies at IAVM Venue Management School in 2014.
