Chiefs Promote Chuck Castellano to Vice President of Community Outreach and Alumni Affairs

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – On Friday, the Kansas City Chiefs announced the promotion of Chuck Castellano to Vice President of Community Outreach and Alumni Affairs. After originally joining the Chiefs in 2000 as a seasonal assistant in the Public Relations department, Castellano was hired to join the Community Outreach team when it was formally established in 2001 and now enters his 27th season with the club in 2026.

"Chuck has been an integral part of the Chiefs family for more than two decades, having helped shape our community outreach strategy and the ways in which we interact with and support our alumni over that time," Chiefs President Mark Donovan said. "As someone who worked for the team under Lamar, Chuck has a unique understanding and immense appreciation for our commitment to the community and the legacy of positive impact that has been established throughout Kansas City and beyond. Anyone who has worked with Chuck – whether it's the hundreds of staff members who have crossed paths with him or the countless charities we work with annually – has been positively impacted by his servant-leadership and his commitment to making a difference."

In his new role, Castellano will continue to report to Anne Scharf, the club's Vice President of Community Impact and Civic Affairs. He will lead all aspects of the club's community outreach programming and strategy, as well as oversee all alumni relations efforts across the Kansas City Ambassadors and all Chiefs Legends.

Over his 26 years, Castellano has helped shape the vision and growth of the organization's community outreach efforts, launching the Chiefs Community Caring Team and developing the annual "Rookie Club" to help introduce young players to the countless charitable causes throughout the Kansas City region. He helped Will Shields (2003) and Brian Waters (2009) earn the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Honors – recognizing their play on the field as well as their commitment to philanthropy and community impact off it. In addition, he's worked extensively with the Red Coaters, a highly dedicated group of community service-minded Season Ticket Members who volunteer their time on behalf of the Chiefs organization to serve the community, as well as the Kansas City Ambassadors, former Chiefs players who serve as a liaison between the team, the community, and various civic organizations. Castellano's team orchestrates more than 100 individual community outreach moments throughout the region each year that align with organizational initiatives and NFL celebrations, while also supporting countless player-led events and initiatives.

Castellano graduated from the University of Central Florida with an associate's degree in 1996, earned his bachelor's degree in sport management from Flagler College in 1998 and received his master's in education degree with a focus in sport studies from the University of Kansas in 2004. In addition to his seasonal role with the Chiefs, Castellano also spent the 2001 season with the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe.

A native of Lake Mary, Florida, Castellano and his wife, Heather, have three daughters – Braelyn, Gwendolyn, and Shea – and reside in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
